Update: Senior Pics and July Ipsy Bag

Hey guys! Happy Friday!

So this is just another update. I’m still working on my June Bag post; I actually took the pictures for it yesterday, so that should be up shortly. I also went home yesterday for the first time this week and received my July Ipsy bag. Opening the shiny, hot pink envelope is a of highlight of each month. I get so excited! I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! Unfortunately, I was faced with disappoint this month because something in my bag exploded.

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know which product it was because everything was sealed. It also didn’t smell like any of the products that I received. I had to assume it was the sunscreen because the packaging was fairly empty. I emailed Ipsy requesting to replace the damaged sunscreen, and it might take a while for them to send it to me. This means that my July post will take even longer than normal (I know right. How is that possible??), since I’ll be waiting for the replacement.

Besides that, I’m taking my senior portraits tomorrow! I’ve been practicing and prepping for a while. I got my eyebrows done Saturday, I’m been experimenting with my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette on and off for about 2 months now, and I got a new face wash. The face wash I got was the acne line from Murad. I’ve used it before, but never continually, so I’ll most likely make a review post on that sometime in the near future. Another aspect I’ve been experimenting with is my hair. For my pictures, I decided to go with light beachy waves. In order to perfect the method for the big day, I’ve been practicing and modifying my technique. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get a tutorial for my headband curls if ya’ll are interested!

As for the makeup, I received my Naked 2 palette last year for Christmas, but this is the first time I’ve really broken it in. Though I love all things beauty, I’m not that great with eyeshadow. For the longest time, I never had to use it. I didn’t party (awkward, nerdy kids don’t get invited to things like that), and my dad was against me wearing so much makeup. Now that I’m a little older, he doesn’t mind it as much. Also, I felt like experimenting with such a high quality product was a waste. I felt like I should just stick to Elf palettes and other products from the drug store. But then one day, I just said screw it! I had it, so why not use it? It would have been a waste all the same if I just let it sit there. With this new frame of mind, I began putting on makeup every day, even if I was at home. While my family thought this was silly, what better way to improve and hone my skills? If it looked awful, then I would be at home and no one would see it. Plus, if I never practiced, how would I expect to get better? Everyone has to start somewhere. All those wonderful gurus on Youtube weren’t born knowing how to apply flawless makeup. They were passionate about it and got better and more creative every time. Since I’m starting to get more comfortable with the palette, I’ve started using multiple combinations of the colors, but my eye looks have never been super defined or smokey. They are more neutral, but that’s because I’m not yet comfortable wearing smokey makeup during the day.

If you follow my Instagram, you’ve probably seen some of the looks I’ve been playing with without even noticing it.

you can see my headband curls here ^

I know you can’t really see any of the colors and what not, but whatever.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday and that you have a great rest of the week! Wish me luck tomorrow!

What do you think I should do for my nails? Also, if you want a post/tutorial about anything I’ve talked about, like this post and let me know in the comments!

Update: Seeking Melissa (Where You Can Find Me)

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I know in my last post, I said that I would have all these other posts up soon, but I’ve just been so lazy. Also, I’m not at my house, so it’s a little more difficult. Like for my haul post, I obviously didn’t lug all the items I bought with me. The reason behind not being at my house is that I’ll be babysitting Monday-Friday until the the 26th of August.

Though, I won’t be able to put up my haul post until the weekends, I’ll try to get my June Bag up soon! I swear! I actually thought about putting it up today, but babysitting has been surprisingly tiring.

With all of that out of the way, I just wanted to make this post to let you know that you can now follow me on Bloglovin’!

For those of you who don’t know what Bloglovin’ is, it’s a blog reader. It’s a place where you can follow basically all blogs, no matter what the platform. When you follow these blogs, they appear in your feed/dashboard. On top of that, you can “follow” specific pages of certain blogs, if they have the link. For example, say that there is a blog that posts about multiple things: fashion, entertainment, and traveling, but you only care about their posts covering entertainment. Though this blogger blogs about about three separate topics, you can specifically follow any of the posts pertaining to that. From there, you can like the post, and share it on various other social media sites. Also, the feature that I love the most, is that it marks when a post has been read, and moves it to the bottom of your feed.

I’m personally new to Bloglovin’ and I absolutely love it! Even though I’m not technically that new to blogging, I feel I am. Though, I’ve had my blog for a while now, I’ve never been involved in the blogging community. This was because I didn’t use a blog reader. Reading blog posts didn’t have the same ease as watching Youtube videos because all my favorite gurus/writers weren’t in one convenient place like they are in my Youtube subscriptions. Of course, WordPress comes with a reader of its own, but you can only follow other WordPress blogs. Now, all of that has changed just by simply getting a Bloglovin’ account.

For those of you who previously used Google reader, and still need a good reader, I suggest Bloglovin’!

Besides Bloglovin, you can also follow me on these social media sites:

UPDATE! UPDATE! READ ALL ABOUT IT!

HEY GUYS!

This is just a quick update! I wanted to make a Manicure Monday this week, but I’m weird. I have a love/hate relationship with nail art. Sometimes I wanna do it. Sometimes I don’t. Sometimes it stresses the crap out of me.

Besides that, I hope to have my June Ipsy Bag up soon along with a massive, collective haul. Well massive is a bit of an overstatement. It just feels like a lot because I spent a crapton. I actually bought a bunch, but I’m returning a few things. The haul will feature my purchases from Sephora, Threadless, Ebay, Gilly Hick’s Semi-Annual Sale, and a few items from Wet Seal and Shasa.

The stuff I got from Ebay is sort of old now, but I finally finished getting in everything that I wanted, so I figured I would just put it under one haul.

Lastly, I recently purchased a LivingSocial coupon for Driver’s Ed Online. The plan was for me to get my license when I turned 18, without having to take the class, but apparently, and unbeknownst to me and my father, Texas laws have changed! Evidently, you have to be 25 and up to just go to the DMV to get the license (Apparently, even feeling 22 wouldn’t be good enough). With this new tidbit of information, I figured that I would just try to get it done this summer so that I can get my license when I’m 18 and hopefully get a job during my senior year.

With that being said, if anyone (in Texas) is interested in an online driving course, you can check out my link:

So that it all. I just wanted to keep you guise on my super exciting life! I hope everyone is enjoying their Wednesday! Talk to you soon, hopefully, if I get my life together :P
