OOTD: Brights and Stripes Take 2

What I’m Wearing:

  • Top- Forever 21
  • Pants- Old Navy Rockstar Jeans
  • Flats- Lucky Brand from Off 5th: Saks Fifth Avenue (obviously my go-to shoes)
  • Watch- Michael Kors from Macy’s

I actually wore this outfit last week but haven’t had time to create a post about it. It started because I was going through my closet and pulled out this top from Forever. I decided to wear this top because I’ve had it for a while, and I’ve only worn it a handful of times. I think the reason I never wore it that often was because it was so long. It even came with the belt/tie thingy, but I always thought the loops were too low. After that, I decided to wear these pants because the hole in my fav. jeans is getting kinda big and so I have to work my other pants in to rotation.

So, I’m going to be honest, I was really skeptical about wearing this outfit. I’m not really sure what the reason for this skepticism was, but it was there. I guess it was because I’ve never worn them (the pants and the top) together at once. Or it could have been that I’ve never worn the shirt with the belt that is included. Maybe it was because I rolled the pants up. Idk. Whatever the reason was, I was terrified about wearing it to school. I asked both the BFF and my mom if I looked stupid and they said no, but my fears still weren’t cast aside. Even though I had my doubts, I wore it to school anyways and kept saying to myself “Stop being so stupid. No one looks at you.”

Unfortunately, as I was walking in to the building, I passed by two girls who were laughing and said something along the lines of “I like that outfit.” Of course this could have been completely innocent or about someone else, but I got super paranoid. For the rest of the day, I felt like everyone was criticizing me because that’s just what people in high school do. But whatever, I made it through the day, which is all that matters.

So that’s it for this OOTD and little rant/story telling (?). Thanks for stopping by!

Do you ever feel weird about wearing certain outfit? Do you wear it anyways cuz “I do want I waannt” or do you take them off and go for something more simple?

OOTD: Brights and Stripes

I know my last OOTD post was more boring than usual, so hopefully, today’s will sort of compensate for that. So this weekend, it got pretty cold. Luckily, it would warm up by mid day, so it wasn’t so bad. With this weekend weather in mind, I decided to pick something that would be warm enough for the cool morning weather, but wouldn’t be too unbearable for the afternoon heat.

(Sorry for the yellow lighting!)

What I’m Wearing:

  • Shirt- Gilly Hicks
  • Pants- Old Navy
  • Jacket- Abercrombie
  • Flats- Lucky Brand from Off 5th: Saks Fifth Avenue
  • Watch- Michael Kors from Macy’s

Normally, I would have thrown on a pair of regular denim skinnies, but since they just came out of the wash, I didn’t feel like squeezing in to them this morning. Instead, I opted for some color pants. Since my corals pants are so loud, I toned everything else down. I went for a neutral striped shirt and my cropped, wannabe leather jacket.

So that’s it for this quick update! If you like the colored pants trend, like this post and I’ll try to include them in more of my OOTDs.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day, and if I don’t post anymore this week, the rest of their week!

OOTD: Gettin My Nails Did

Since my mom gets off of work early today, we’re going to get our nails done. Normally, I get both a mani and pedi, but I decided just to get my toes done since I hate doing them myself. I also have this “condition” that my mom has. I’m not sure what it’s called, a hangnail?, but on the sides of my big toe nail there is I guess extra skin or something. I’m not really sure. I just know that my mom has to go in every three weeks to get it removed. I have the same thing, but it’s not nearly as bad. For my mom, there is so much excess whatever that it hurts. Occasionally, the sides of my toe hurt when I press on them, but it’s manageable. I just hope that when I get older, I won’t have the same problem to the extent at which she has it. But enough of that, on to the look!

So once again, nothing super stylish, but I kinda like sharing these with you guys! Tell me how you feel? Love it? Hate it? Want me to stop because I’m not fashionable in any way? Let me know!

Actually, before you leave, I would love if you would take the time to answer my poll!

OOTD: Casual Movie Date with Friends

So my friends and I went to Studio Movie Grill today. We watched Oz the Great and Powerful. It was kinda strange. I felt like they fused The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland. We watched it in 2D, but wouldn’t have minded seeing it in 3D. I’m not really a fan of 3D movies, but I felt like the effects in this movie would be good in 3D. Also, if you haven’t been to SMG in a while like me, I wanted to let you know that they now have assigned seating. Since we got to the counter at 2:00 and they trailers started at 2:05, we were played in the front. Literally the very first row.

Anyways, I thought it would be colder today since I was freezing all morning and since it was cold last night. I was wrong. Luckily, I didn’t wear boots and went with a cardigan instead. For this outfit, I combined two of my favorite things. Lace shirts and colored pants!

Gilly Hicks and Old Navy Haul

On Sunday, before going to see Demi at the rodeo, I went to the Galleria with my cousin to make some returns. We went to Old Navy and Gilly Hicks.

At Old Navy, they had a 30% off sale (on certain items) and I believe she also got an extra $15 off off of a purchase of $50 or more. She ended up getting me two things:

DSC04809

Baseball Shirt $7.50 each for two or more; normally $12.50 each

They had this shirt in a few colors. They had different sleeve and stripe color combos. They also had colored sleeves with plain bodies.

DSC04810

Polka Dot Rock Star Jeans on sale for $8.99! They were originally $34.50.

I may return these. I’m not really sure. I got these in a 4 because that was the only size they have, but I normally wear a 2. They are kinda baggy around my knees. Who know? Maybe I’ll cut them.

Next, I returned 2 items and then picked up a few more from Gilly Hicks. They also had a sale and I also had a 20% off coupon and tons of store credit.

DSC04811

A white tank top with lace detailing on the back. On sale for $12.00, I got it for $9.60, originally $17.50

DSC04812

Racerback and lace detailing

DSC04815

2 bralettes on sale for $15.00 each, I got them for $12.00, originally $15.50

DSC04814

These are also racerback. I got them in a medium so that I would still be able to wear a bra with them.

DSC04817

Floral detailing

They had these bralettes in a few colors. They had white, turquoise, navy, lavender  and maybe neon green along with some others. They also had neon bralettes that were a different style. I might return these too. I like them, but I’m honestly not sure when I’d wear them. If anyone has any tips on how they would style these, let me know!

DSC04818

Chunky knit sweater originally $39.50, on sale for $25.00, I paid $20.00

I really like this sweater. It’s really oversized, so I got mine in a xs. At first I was worried because I thought that the bagginess would highlight how broad that I am and that I would look stupid, but it doesn’t look too bad. Also, since it’s knit, it has a bunch of holes in it, which I like. I’ll be able to wear this over tanks and shoulder bearing shirts at school so that I stay in “dress code” without having to worry about getting too hot.

So that’s it for this post, nothing too exciting. For those of you that are out for spring break, I hope you enjoy your week off and for those no longer in school, I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! Since I have the week off, I’ll try to get 3-4 posts put out!
