OOTD: Last Day of School and Lunch Date in Chinatown

Today was another hot day, so I wore a dress. I don’t have many summer dresses, and of the ones I do have, they don’t get much use. I’m trying to change that, so I’ll probably be wearing them more frequently.

After my physics final, my friends and I drove to Star Snow Ice and ate lunch there. I got the chicken teriyaki, which has pretty large. I also got a regular milk tea without tapioca. I’ve had better milk tea, at Lollicup, when it was still in business, but it wasn’t too bad. In general, the food wasn’t too bad; it was dirt cheap, like $6.oo!

OOTD: Brights and Stripes Take 2

What I’m Wearing:

  • Top- Forever 21
  • Pants- Old Navy Rockstar Jeans
  • Flats- Lucky Brand from Off 5th: Saks Fifth Avenue (obviously my go-to shoes)
  • Watch- Michael Kors from Macy’s

I actually wore this outfit last week but haven’t had time to create a post about it. It started because I was going through my closet and pulled out this top from Forever. I decided to wear this top because I’ve had it for a while, and I’ve only worn it a handful of times. I think the reason I never wore it that often was because it was so long. It even came with the belt/tie thingy, but I always thought the loops were too low. After that, I decided to wear these pants because the hole in my fav. jeans is getting kinda big and so I have to work my other pants in to rotation.

So, I’m going to be honest, I was really skeptical about wearing this outfit. I’m not really sure what the reason for this skepticism was, but it was there. I guess it was because I’ve never worn them (the pants and the top) together at once. Or it could have been that I’ve never worn the shirt with the belt that is included. Maybe it was because I rolled the pants up. Idk. Whatever the reason was, I was terrified about wearing it to school. I asked both the BFF and my mom if I looked stupid and they said no, but my fears still weren’t cast aside. Even though I had my doubts, I wore it to school anyways and kept saying to myself “Stop being so stupid. No one looks at you.”

Unfortunately, as I was walking in to the building, I passed by two girls who were laughing and said something along the lines of “I like that outfit.” Of course this could have been completely innocent or about someone else, but I got super paranoid. For the rest of the day, I felt like everyone was criticizing me because that’s just what people in high school do. But whatever, I made it through the day, which is all that matters.

So that’s it for this OOTD and little rant/story telling (?). Thanks for stopping by!

Do you ever feel weird about wearing certain outfit? Do you wear it anyways cuz “I do want I waannt” or do you take them off and go for something more simple?

OOTD: Brights and Stripes

I know my last OOTD post was more boring than usual, so hopefully, today’s will sort of compensate for that. So this weekend, it got pretty cold. Luckily, it would warm up by mid day, so it wasn’t so bad. With this weekend weather in mind, I decided to pick something that would be warm enough for the cool morning weather, but wouldn’t be too unbearable for the afternoon heat.

(Sorry for the yellow lighting!)

What I’m Wearing:

  • Shirt- Gilly Hicks
  • Pants- Old Navy
  • Jacket- Abercrombie
  • Flats- Lucky Brand from Off 5th: Saks Fifth Avenue
  • Watch- Michael Kors from Macy’s

Normally, I would have thrown on a pair of regular denim skinnies, but since they just came out of the wash, I didn’t feel like squeezing in to them this morning. Instead, I opted for some color pants. Since my corals pants are so loud, I toned everything else down. I went for a neutral striped shirt and my cropped, wannabe leather jacket.

So that’s it for this quick update! If you like the colored pants trend, like this post and I’ll try to include them in more of my OOTDs.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day, and if I don’t post anymore this week, the rest of their week!

OODT: April 3, 2013

This is just a quick update since I haven’t been posting as much as I want to. Normally, I wouldn’t post an OOTD with a school outfit, but I really do love this shirt. When I first saw it, I really wanted it, but I thought it was too expensive. Luckily, I got it for a Christmas present and so since it has a hood, I decided to whip it out today since it was supposed to rain today. Another reason I love this shirt is because it’s very poncho-esqu, but it’s still cute.

I know I look stupid, but I was trying to get a shot of the sleeves.

What I’m Wearing:

  • Top- Hollister
  • Cami- Aeropostale
  • Jeggings- Charlotte Russe
  • Shoes- Lucky Brand flats from Off 5th: Saks Fifth Avenue (not captured)

Like I said, this was just a quick update. I hope I’ll be able to post this weekend, but there are no promises since we’re having a crawfish boil on Saturday. I hope you enjoyed this simple post and that you enjoy the rest of the week!

Back to Blogging

I know I promised that with the time off, I would be posting frequently, but I’ve been distracted with catching up on things that I haven’t gotten to do since school started. The main thing being getting up to date on Gossip Girl. Since the show is now over, I’ve taken the time during my break to have a marathon. The only thing is that with blogging being the main part of the show, I felt like I should be updating my blog. While my blog doesn’t contain juicy information about “the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite”, I hope you enjoy this post anyways. So now that I’m done rambling, here is my Ulta and Katy Mills Haul!

I got a few things at Ulta, but most of the items were Christmas gifts. These were all the items I got, with some close-ups. Obviously the book wasn’t part of the haul, but I wanted to add some holiday spirit to my photo.

The products I bought:

  • Frost Bitten, Twice Shy Ulta Nail Polish Set
  • Ulta Nail Polishes in Mint Condition and Bam-Blue-Zled
  • Orly MagneticFX Nail Laquer in Paint on Electron
  • Ulta Beauty Smoothie Mini Set in Coco Velvet Truffle
  • .45 oz Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
  • Riviera Headband

First we stopped at Off 5th: Saks Fifth Avenue, and there I got a pair of Lucky Brand flats for $42.21. Unfortunately, after wearing them around the house, I think I may return them.

Next, we stopped by Victoria’s Secret where they were having a 30% off sale on college gear. The sweater ended up being $35.40, with the original price being $54.50

The last two places I ended up getting stuff from were A&F Brand Factory Store and Marshalls. They were having a 30% off sale on all items at the A&F store, so I got the most stuff there.

The items I purchased:

  • 2 pairs of woven shorts for $9.03, on sale for $12.90, originally for $78
  • Women’s sweatpants for $20.93, on sale for 29.90
  • A windbreaker/rain jacket for $27.93, on sale for 39.90, originally for $80
  • 2 flowy cream colored shirts with lace detailing from the brand Pearl for $12.99
  • Pair of egg shell white lace shorts from the brand Sans Souci for $10
