OOTD: Brights and Stripes

I know my last OOTD post was more boring than usual, so hopefully, today’s will sort of compensate for that. So this weekend, it got pretty cold. Luckily, it would warm up by mid day, so it wasn’t so bad. With this weekend weather in mind, I decided to pick something that would be warm enough for the cool morning weather, but wouldn’t be too unbearable for the afternoon heat.

(Sorry for the yellow lighting!)

What I’m Wearing:

  • Shirt- Gilly Hicks
  • Pants- Old Navy
  • Jacket- Abercrombie
  • Flats- Lucky Brand from Off 5th: Saks Fifth Avenue
  • Watch- Michael Kors from Macy’s

Normally, I would have thrown on a pair of regular denim skinnies, but since they just came out of the wash, I didn’t feel like squeezing in to them this morning. Instead, I opted for some color pants. Since my corals pants are so loud, I toned everything else down. I went for a neutral striped shirt and my cropped, wannabe leather jacket.

So that’s it for this quick update! If you like the colored pants trend, like this post and I’ll try to include them in more of my OOTDs.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day, and if I don’t post anymore this week, the rest of their week!

OOTD: April 4, 2013

Another quick update! So it’s supposedly spring, but we got in a cold front today. When I woke up this morning, it was difficult to drag myself out of the bed, not only because I had school, but because it was so cold. Figures it starts to get cold when we get the AC fixed, but when it’s broken, it decides to be fifty million degrees outside. Anyways, since it was chilly today, I pulled my boots out.

  • Boots- Justfab

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day!

OODT: April 3, 2013

This is just a quick update since I haven’t been posting as much as I want to. Normally, I wouldn’t post an OOTD with a school outfit, but I really do love this shirt. When I first saw it, I really wanted it, but I thought it was too expensive. Luckily, I got it for a Christmas present and so since it has a hood, I decided to whip it out today since it was supposed to rain today. Another reason I love this shirt is because it’s very poncho-esqu, but it’s still cute.

I know I look stupid, but I was trying to get a shot of the sleeves.

What I’m Wearing:

  • Top- Hollister
  • Cami- Aeropostale
  • Jeggings- Charlotte Russe
  • Shoes- Lucky Brand flats from Off 5th: Saks Fifth Avenue (not captured)

Like I said, this was just a quick update. I hope I’ll be able to post this weekend, but there are no promises since we’re having a crawfish boil on Saturday. I hope you enjoyed this simple post and that you enjoy the rest of the week!

Spring 2013 Trends

Hey guys! Sorry I’ve been MIA, beauty wise, but school has been pretty hectic. So today, I wanted to do a post about spring trends that I’m loving. Obviously, there are more than what this post shows, but these are ones that I would/do actually follow. This is my first time doing a post like this because I don’t really find myself to be up to date on fashion, but I’m just going to jump right in.

Bright and Pastel Pants

I love color pants. I have about 3 pairs myself, but I really want to try to Skimmers from Gap. I love color pants because they can pull an outfit together. It replaces everyday denim with a nice pop of color that makes it seem like you put a little more effort in to your outfit.

Lace

In general, I really like that romantic, girly look. With the bows, sheer, soft, neutral fabric, and lace! I’m absolutely in love with lace and lace detailing. A while back, I was obsessed with lace. Everywhere I went, I saw it and I had to have it. I have maybe a hand full of lace items, but I love all of them. I was worried that having these items would be bad because when they went out of style, I wouldn’t know what to do with them, but luckily they’re still in style.

Animal Ear Accessories

So when I first saw Taylor Swift with here cat headband in 22, I thought it was super cute, but not something I would really wear. Same goes for bunny ears. I kinda thought it would be deemed as more for costumes or younger kids. Luckily though, it seems that these accessories are making it big, which justifies wearing things normally associated with kids. Also, while this cutesy look is just coming in to style in America, it has been big in Korea, home to everything cute, for quite some time. With that being said, if you’re interested in these accessories, I would advise looking at Ebay and other sites where they sell cheap Korean accessories. As for the headband, I sell it at Forever.

Chambray

I’m going to be completely honest and admit that before this season, I had no idea what chambray was. I think I saw it online or on tv and was totally confused. When I saw it, I thought it was the same thing as denim. I didn’t really think much about it even after doing some research, but then I started seeing it everywhere. I saw an especially cute top that also incorporated florals in a TJ Maxx ad. I have a denim shirt, but nothing chambray, so hopefully, I’ll be able to pick something up soon!

Once again, sorry I haven’t updated in a while, but hopefully I’ll get back on schedule soon! I hope you enjoyed this post and if you want more, be sure to like this!

OOTN: Sushi with My Mom

It was just my mom and me today. My brother had plans with friends and so did my dad. Whenever it’s just the two of us, we either eat salad, since my dad hates it, or we get sushi, which is probably our favorite food. The place we went to is just around the corner from my house and very casual. Since I was in my PJs all day, doing chores around the house, I decided it was about time I changed my clothes. I quickly threw on a very summery outfit because I assumed it was hot since my room had been scorching all day. I was wrong. It was actually on the cooler side.

Please excuse the bare face, I just wanted to show off my hair

What I’m Wearing:

  • Cami- Aeropostale
  • Top- Bjewel from Marshalls
  • Shorts- American Eagle

I actually don’t wear this top much. I think this is like my third time. When I got it, I really liked it, but after wearing it one random day, I couldn’t help but notice how unflattering it looked on me. Since I thought it looked back, I decided to use it as a bathing suit cover up. I put it on today because I felt like I was wasting this shirt, so I just thought to hell with it and threw it on and raced out the door.

Once again, nothing too crazy. I hope you guys aren’t bored with these yet or worse think “you’re tacky and I hate you.”

OOTD: Gettin My Nails Did

Since my mom gets off of work early today, we’re going to get our nails done. Normally, I get both a mani and pedi, but I decided just to get my toes done since I hate doing them myself. I also have this “condition” that my mom has. I’m not sure what it’s called, a hangnail?, but on the sides of my big toe nail there is I guess extra skin or something. I’m not really sure. I just know that my mom has to go in every three weeks to get it removed. I have the same thing, but it’s not nearly as bad. For my mom, there is so much excess whatever that it hurts. Occasionally, the sides of my toe hurt when I press on them, but it’s manageable. I just hope that when I get older, I won’t have the same problem to the extent at which she has it. But enough of that, on to the look!

DSC04955

I’m not sure if you can tell, but I cleaned my mirror for you guys! ;)

What I’m Wearing:

  • Tank- Men’s Small Wife Beater from WalMart
  • Cropped Sweater- Derek Heart from Marshalls
  • Shorts- Abercrombie & Fitch from A&F Factory Brand Store
  • Shoes- Flip Flops from Old Navy

So once again, nothing super stylish, but I kinda like sharing these with you guys! Tell me how you feel? Love it? Hate it? Want me to stop because I’m not fashionable in any way? Let me know!

Actually, before you leave, I would love if you would take the time to answer my poll!

Thanks for voting!

OOTD: Casual Movie Date with Friends

So my friends and I went to Studio Movie Grill today. We watched Oz the Great and Powerful. It was kinda strange. I felt like they fused The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland. We watched it in 2D, but wouldn’t have minded seeing it in 3D. I’m not really a fan of 3D movies, but I felt like the effects in this movie would be good in 3D. Also, if you haven’t been to SMG in a while like me, I wanted to let you know that they now have assigned seating. Since we got to the counter at 2:00 and they trailers started at 2:05, we were played in the front. Literally the very first row.

Anyways, I thought it would be colder today since I was freezing all morning and since it was cold last night. I was wrong. Luckily, I didn’t wear boots and went with a cardigan instead. For this outfit, I combined two of my favorite things. Lace shirts and colored pants!

I know this was nothing special, but I thought I would share. If you guys want more of these posts, like/comment on this one, because if not, I’ll probably only post OOTD/OOTN when I have dressier events to attend.
